Beyond: Two Souls is a game developed on 2013 by the company - Quantic Dream, which is also the developer of the another famous interactive game - Heavy Rain. Inherited the elements from Heavy Rain, Beyonds: Two souls has become one of the most epic game in the recent years, the interactive element and outstanding storyline make it impressive for a gamer. You are like watching a movie, and you can really portrays Jodie(The protagonist), every decision you make has a consequence, it will lead to a different ending to Jodie. That's why I am saying you are portraying a character rather than playing the character.
"You can make your own decision for her, you are now Jodie", is the significance of this game.

Jodie, the protagonist of this game, was linked to an entity Aidan since birth. The ethereal tether which linked to them (shown on the above snapshot) keeps Aidan bound to Jodie. If Aidan went too far from Jodie, it will cause tremendous pain to Jodie. This setting makes the player interact with Aidan and Jodie in the way they want but bounded with certain limits.
Player controlling both Aidan and Jodie throughout the story. Aidan's "duty" is to protect Jodie from dangers, but Aidan could do some actions that will change the ending of each chapter, for example, ruin the date between Jodie and Ryan in the chapter: The Dinner. That's up to the Player's choice.
Although it is classified as a action adventure game, but the action element in this game its not many compare to other action games. You wouldn't need the good aiming skill, or insane mechanics to complete the game, all the time you need in this game is to think and press buttons for making choices for Jodie.
In snapshot3, there are four action that Jodie could make in that situation. That's the mechanics of how this game works. For example, If Jodie chose to blame Nathan, Nathan will get angry and shoot Jodie, and Ryan will be the next to die. If Jodie chose to convince(Reason) Nathan, Nathan will kill himself, and Ryan will survive and leads to another ending.
So Player can choose and think the way they want the story goes.
P.S. This game did receive many negative feedback for their bad action element settings, but as a interactive drama game, it is very successful and impressive. Like the game Heavy Rain, the suspicious storyline of this game did attract people to keep playing to see what's going on next. When I first watch the Walkthrough on Youtube, I just can't stop myself to watch the next part of the Walkthrough, as It really like watching a movie(instead of a game) and you are the character of the movie. It will be a milestone to the future concept of the "movie", which we could interact with it and creates our own desire ending.
